"Composed of 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier and disgorged in March 2025 with a dosage of four grams per liter, the 2018 Brut Millésime Cuvée Sensuum Vertigo vividly reflects the luminosity and warmth of the southeast-facing slopes mingling with the intensity of a hot vintage. It offers an expressive bouquet of pear, dried apricot, fresh bread and honeysuckle. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with a rich fruit core, it is perfumed and textural, underpinned by ripe yet energetic acidity that provides a structural backbone, and culminates in a long, enveloping finish. Fabrice Gass noted his preference for the DMY cuvée over this vintage bottling, a sentiment I fully share in the context of this release—though this 2018 vintage will likely improve with further bottle age, as his older releases have consistently demonstrated, and my current assessment may ultimately prove somewhat conservative." -Kristaps Karklins
