Monier-Perreol, Saint-Joseph Blanc, 2017
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Monier-Perreol is one of a tiny handful of “STGT” (soil to glass transfer) producers in the Northern Rhone, as identified by Johnathan Livingstone-Learmonth. We seek out all producers on this list and when we find them we are never disappointed.
When Josh Raynolds reviewed this back in 2020 he glowed and gave it a drinking window of 2020-2026 -- well, we're right in the heart of that window now!
"Light yellow-gold. Ripe pit fruits, lemon pith and chamomile on the deeply perfumed nose, along with suggestions of honey and fennel. Pliant and broad in the mouth, offering juicy white peach, pear nectar and Meyer lemon flavors that become livelier on the back half. A subtle mineral note builds steadily on the energetic finish, which leaves a hint of bitter pear skin behind." (JR in Vinous)
