"The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques 1er Cru was completely de-stemmed this year. It has a very understated bouquet that takes time to gradually unfurl, revealing pretty strawberry fruit, wet limestone and rose petal scents. The palate is smooth on the entry with lithe tannins, well balanced, not complex but reassuringly persistent on the finish. This will doubtlessly be drinking after just a couple of years in bottle." -Vinous
