The 2010 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest in recent Barolo history—a cool, late-ripening year that produced wines of exceptional structure and longevity. From Burlotto's prized Monvigliero vineyard in Verduno, this bottling showcases the cru's signature elegance combined with the vintage's firm tannic backbone. The estate's traditional approach—extended maceration, large Slavonian oak—allows the terroir to speak clearly. Now with 15 years of age, the wine is beginning to open, revealing layers of rose petal, tar, and dried herbs. This will continue to evolve beautifully for decades. Decant 2 hours.

"The 2010 Barolo Monvigliero is as reticent as it is beautiful. With time in the glass, some of the aromas and flavors start to release, but the 2010 is mostly a wine of texture at this stage. Whereas the 2009 was open and resonant, the 2010 is a wine that demands the taster's full attention. Bright red berries, mint, spices and crushed rocks are some of the many notes that flow through to the chiseled finish.
