Ca' di Press is a young producer working with family vineyards in Monforte d'Alba's Perno zone—land the family has stewarded since the early 1900s. The 2021 Barolo Perno reflects a philosophy of minimal intervention: traditional maceration in steel, aging in neutral vessels, and a gentler extraction approach that lets the wine's structure emerge naturally. The result is a classic Barolo with clove and earthy aromatics, warm enveloping tannins, and a silky finish. In magnum format, this wine will develop even more gracefully over a longer cellaring window. Honest Barolo from the new generation.

"The 2021 Barolo Perno is every bit as compelling as it was when I tasted it a few months ago, maybe even a little more so! Soaring aromatics and silky tannins frame a core of pure red/purplish fruit. This is only the fourth vintage for Ca' di Press, and yet in that short time, the wines have gained in polish through gentler extraction and a gentler oak imprint. Of course, the strong vintage helps as well. This gorgeous, translucent Barolo is utterly sublime. The 2021 is a wine of extreme finesse and beguiling beauty.
