Colli di Lapio was established in 1994 by Clelia Romano after four generations of the family selling grapes. The Fiano vineyards are in Lapio village, northeast of Avellino—considered the "grand cru" growing area for Fiano—at 500 meters elevation on calcareous clay soils. The estate totals approximately 2.8 hectares, producing only 800-900 cases per year. Practicing organic: fertilizes with organics, sows alfalfa between rows for nitrogen, uses only copper and sulfur. 100% Fiano, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, matured 6-8 months on lees, 6 months bottle aging. Minimal sulfur added.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"The 2024 Fiano di Avellino opens with a vibrant burst of crushed yellow apples, raw almonds, white flowers and citrus-y spice. The palate is juicy to the core with brisk acidity and ripe orchard fruits. A pretty inner sweetness offsets a salty mineral inflection toward the close as hints of sour lime fade." -Eric Guido
