Thibaud Boudignon has become one of the Loire's most sought-after producers, transforming from cult favorite to essential Chenin Blanc reference. His Anjou Blanc represents the entry point to his acclaimed portfolio, sourced from 35-year-old vines on volcanic rhyolite and grey schist soils.

The high-density plantings and shallow soils stress the vines, concentrating flavors in this pure expression of Loire Chenin Blanc. Boudignon ferments with indigenous yeasts and typically avoids malolactic conversion, preserving the grape's natural acidity and mineral backbone that defines great Anjou whites.

Thibaud Boudignon has gone through the three stages of small-producer cultdom. First, there were the tweets and instagram posts. Maybe a foreign blog or small magazine article. The allusions to his wine were rapturous, but enigmatic and mostly from overseas.

Then came phase two: devoted wine folk "suitcased" bottles home to America to share with friends. Word spread. The hunt was on.

Finally, phase three: importers started bringing small amounts straight to California and New York. Thanks guys!
