Chateau La Tour Blanche Leonie, Bordeaux Blanc, 2023
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is this wine?
Château La Tour Blanche is a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate in Sauternes, famed for its sweet wines. Alongside those, the estate also produces Léonie, a dry Bordeaux Blanc crafted from the same Sémillon- and Sauvignon Blanc–based vineyards. The 2023 blend highlights Sauvignon Blanc’s freshness and aromatics, rounded by Sémillon’s texture and depth.
Why get this wine?
It’s rare to find a Sauternes First Growth making an affordable dry white. Léonie gives a glimpse of the estate’s expertise with white grapes—precise, balanced, and classically Bordeaux—at a fraction of the price of classified growth bottlings. This is a fresh, versatile white from a château with serious pedigree.
What does this wine taste like?
Crisp and aromatic, with grapefruit, lemon, and green apple lifted by floral notes and herbs. The palate has a touch of Sémillon’s waxy texture, balanced by bright acidity and a mineral finish.
When should you drink this wine?
Drink now through 2026 while its lively fruit is at its best. Excellent with shellfish, white fish, salads, or goat cheese. Serve well chilled.
