is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is this wine?
Château Coutet is one of the great Premiers Crus of Barsac, classified in 1855. The estate’s limestone-rich soils give its Sauternes a signature brightness and elegance. The wine is primarily Sémillon, with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, all affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). The 2010 vintage in Sauternes and Barsac was excellent, yielding wines of both richness and precision.
Why get this wine?
Coutet consistently delivers some of the most refined and ageworthy sweet wines of Bordeaux. The 2010 vintage combines luscious botrytized fruit with Coutet’s trademark freshness, making it a superb choice for collectors and sweet wine lovers alike. It rivals more expensive neighbors while offering excellent value for its pedigree.
What does this wine taste like?
Intense aromas of apricot, pineapple, and candied citrus peel, with layers of honey, ginger, and saffron. The palate is opulent yet lifted, balancing sweetness with vibrant acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
When should you drink this wine?
Delicious now with a short decant to let the aromatics bloom, but capable of aging gracefully for 20–30 years. Excellent with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit tarts, or simply on its own at the end of a meal.
