2016 gave Bordeaux a near-perfect hand to play, and Château Faugères knew how to hold it. Set on limestone and clay in the south-facing hills outside Saint-Émilion, the estate has leaned into modernity without losing sight of its roots. Newer cellar tech, yes—but also rigorous vineyard work, balanced extractions, and the patience to let structure unfold.

This wine doesn’t rush to show its hand. There’s richness here, but it’s drawn with discipline: long lines, quiet confidence, and a frame built more on limestone than on wood. It’s the kind of Right Bank wine that feels both sculpted and grounded—generous without being flashy, precise without being cold.

Now nearly a decade from harvest, Faugères 2016 is entering its stride. Still youthful, still layered, but beginning to reveal what time can do with balance and intention.
