Zonchera was Ceretto's very first Barolo, born in the 1960s from the Zonchetta vineyards of La Morra, below Brunate, and it remains a classic introduction to the house style. This 1988 has had over three decades to mellow into a graceful, savory expression of Nebbiolo. A lovely way to taste mature Barolo without chasing the grand crus. From a private collection, so condition varies; decant and enjoy in the near term.
