From the left bank between Montmain and Vaillon, this is a complex terroir that gets only afternoon sun and has soils that vary a lot from the bottom to the top.

"Ripe yet airy and pretty aromas include those of pear, apple, ocean breeze and a hint of algae. The rich, delicious and succulent middleweight flavors are not especially dense yet possess a lovely texture all the same before terminating in a clean, markedly dry and lingering finish where a touch of austerity slowly emerges. This balanced effort should repay a few years of keeping but also drink well young." (Burghound, 88-91)

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
