Professional Reviews

"From a 1.16 ha parcel. A very ripe liqueur-like nose speaks of cassis, black cherry and a plenitude of floral nuances. The succulent and punchy flavors possess slightly better density before terminating in a powerful and slightly chewy but long finale. Seysses noted that this was one of the last wines to finish its malo so it's not surprising that it is more primary and backward and my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that the finish will better harmonize in time." -Allen Meadows

"The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes finished its malolactic in September, so it's no surprise that it was one of the most inscrutable wines of the tasting. Offering up aromas of cassis and spices, it showed good fruit and underlying structure, but to say much more would be an exercise in more than usually creative writing." -William Kelley

"Mid ruby. Immediately more depth and spark than the Gruenchers with definite premier cru richness. Rich fruit, with red cherry and strawberry on the nose, deeper raspberry on the palate. Good balance between fine acidity, moderate well-knit tannins and long length."

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
