Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 90
"This is also very firmly reduced and revealing nothing. The palate impression of the supple and ever-so-slightly denser flavors is more interesting with its more voluminous and powerful finish that displays the classic young Nuits characteristics of rusticity and austerity. In contrast to the prior wines that could be enjoy young, this will require at least some patience."

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

This village wine is from three parcels of about one hectare total size that are planted to vines of more than sixty years of age. The two primary parcels are in “Plantes Aux Barons” (0.40 hectare) and “Charbonnières” (0.60 hectare), both of which are in Prémeaux on its northern border with Nuits. These low-yielding old vines produce a concentrated and classic Nuits.

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
