"Based on the same grapes as the Perdrizière but fully destemmed, macerated in 700-liter amphora for eight months, racked (yet without pressing) and aged in the same bin, again for four months, the 2020 Côte Roannaise Chez Coste is a pure Gamay Saint Romain that has never been sulfured. The nose is pure, fresh and precise, intermingling perfectly ripe, dark berry aromas with flinty and graphite tones. This is an elegant, fresh and energetic, tight and tensioned Gamay with a long and intense, powerful but elegant and stimulating finish. Lots of energy and mineral tension in the aftertaste. This is an excellent, exciting Gamay. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at ProWein in Düsseldorf in May 2022." -Stephan Reinhardt
