Martha Stoumen’s No. 2 Rosato is a lively, unfiltered rosé made primarily from Nero d’Avola, a Sicilian grape that Martha has made her signature in California. Sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Mendocino and Suisun Valley, this is a non-vintage blend that evolves year to year, both in composition and character.

The “No. 2” name signals its second-pressing origins—it’s made from the juice left after Martha’s red wines are barreled down, often from carbonic or short macerations. The result is a rosato that’s not your typical strawberry-sipper: it’s dry, tangy, herbal, and slightly savory, with plenty of energy and minimal intervention.

It’s fermented with native yeast, bottled with no fining or filtration, and contains minimal sulfur. Expect flavors of blood orange, sour cherry, wild herbs, and citrus peel, with a lightly textural feel and a mouthwatering, crisp finish. Serve well chilled, and don’t be afraid to pour it with food—it plays well with anything from grilled vegetables to charcuterie.
