Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick are putting the two most southerly villages of the Cote de Nuits back on the fine-wine map, farming organically with horses among vines that are sometimes over 50 years old. This Cote de Nuits-Villages 'Aux Montagnes' steps up from their Bourgogne wines into more serious, structured Pinot Noir, drawn from hillside parcels on hard limestone. The wine has real depth and grip while keeping that signature freshness and light touch, with very little new oak getting in the way. Expect darker red fruit, savory spice, and a firm but fine structure built to age. This is golden-generation Burgundy at a price that still makes sense.
