Domaine Roulot, under Jean-Marc Roulot since 1989, is renowned for precise, terroir-expressive Meursault. The 2019 Villages blends fruit from several top lieux-dits, including Narvaux and Clos de la Baronne.

Organically farmed and hand-harvested, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged on lees in older oak. It’s a benchmark Meursault—mineral, structured, and finely detailed.

Left Domaine Roulot

The name Roulot is now a synonym for the very best wine that the village of Meursault can offer. It is rather remarkable when you consider that just 2 generations back the Roulot's were known as producers of Burgundian brandy and eau de vie. But Guy Roulot began leveraging the family's distilling success to purchase small plots of vines in Meursault and by the 1970's was known as a pioneer for producing top quality chardonnay from distinct parcels or ""lieu-dits"".

When Guy passed away unexpectedly in the early '80's his son Jean-Marc was pursuing acting in Paris. In 1989 he returned to take on the reigns of the small Domaine and in the following decades built on his fathers success so well that the wines are now extremely hard to acquire and to afford for most of us.

"As usual, 2019 Meursault Villages comes from several parcels including Clos de la Baronne, Sous la Velle and Crotot. It has a well-defined bouquet, a little spicier than previous vintages. Timid at first, but finds its voice with aeration. Hints of lemongrass and chai complement the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with good concentration and slightly waxy in texture. Fine depth with that spicy leitmotif return on the finish. Give this 18-24 months in bottle. " -Vinous

"With the 2019 Meursault Village, Roulot's usual blend of Clos de la Baronne, Crotot, Gruyaches and Sous la Velle is complemented by a parcel of Narvaux and his young vines in Luchets. Wafting from the glass with scents of citrus oil, crisp green orchard fruit, fresh bread and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a ripe core of fruit girdled by bright acids."
