"Sourced from a dry-farmed vineyard, winemaker Ketan Mody describes the site as "fickle." To this taster, his 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Vare Vineyard is actually a bit more approachable than his Montecillo Vineyard offering, with a bit more roundness and softness to its tannins, while still retaining Cabernet's characteristic austerity and reserve.
