What is this wine?
This Chardonnay is produced by Aslina Wines, the South African estate founded by Ntsiki Biyela, the country’s first Black female winemaker and an internationally recognized talent. Grapes are sourced from cool-climate vineyards in the Western Cape, where ocean breezes preserve freshness. The wine is partly barrel-fermented and aged on the lees, giving it texture while retaining vibrancy.
Why get this wine?
Aslina’s Chardonnay reflects Ntsiki Biyela’s signature balance of elegance and accessibility. It offers a modern South African style—ripe but not heavy, creamy yet fresh. Beyond its quality, supporting Aslina means backing one of the most inspiring and pioneering figures in contemporary wine.
What does this wine taste like?
Medium-bodied with ripe citrus, pear, and apple, layered with subtle vanilla and toast from barrel work. Bright acidity lifts the palate, leading to a long, clean finish with a touch of minerality.
When should you drink this wine?
Delicious now, but will develop additional roundness over the next 3–4 years. Ideal with roast chicken, creamy pasta, or seafood in butter sauce.
