"Smoky aromas of cantaloupe and acacia honey are complicated by a note of white pepper. Dense and juicy, offering ripe but sharply focused flavors of apricot, quince and anise. Finishing with impressive persistence, this Grüner Veltliner will certainly be long-lived. This wine was in a dumb phase a year ago, but its 14% alcohol is now more fully integrated. The 2011s are more compact and monolithic than the 2013s but appear to have similar potential." -Joel B. Payne

"Dense and rich flavors of peach cobbler, ruby grapefruit and glazed citrus are supported by a zesty acidity. The accents of marzipan and lemon curd provide balance, accompanied by hints of tarragon cream. A big wine. Drink now through 2020."
