Kalamona is another partnership wine, with grapes sourced from friends about 30 km north of Lake Balaton, in the subregion of Somló. Here a pure basalt extinct volcano is home to some of the most distinct, mineral wines in all of Hungary. This blend of Furmint, Juhfark (a complex, earthy varietal only found in Balaton), and Olaszrizling is a beautiful snapshot of the terroir, through the artful lens of Káli Kövek. It is delicate, nuanced, and lifted, and firmly secures KK spot as one of the very best estates in Balaton.
