A fresh, snappy Tuscan rose from Istine, made entirely from Sangiovese the way you want a rosato done: grapes picked early to lock in acidity, less than six hours of skin contact, and a clean fermentation and rest in stainless steel. Angela Fronti runs this small, organically farmed Radda estate, and her high-altitude vineyards give the wine real lift and energy. This is a serious producer's summer wine, pale and bright and built for the table rather than the pool float. From a Flatiron favorite, it's a rosato that punches above its category.

Angela Fronti, enologist and daughter of a legendary Tuscan vineyard-management family, launched Istine in 2009 to bottle their own fruit. Today, 20 hectares of scattered high-altitude parcels around Radda and Gaiole produce elegant, organically certified Chianti Classico from pure Sangiovese. Each vineyard cru tells its own story; together, they showcase the precision and terroir that new-generation Chianti can achieve.
