What is this wine?
Argiolas’ Turriga 2019 is the flagship red from Sardinia’s most renowned estate, founded by Antonio Argiolas and now run by the third generation. Crafted from a blend dominated by Cannonau (Grenache) with Carignano, Bovale Sardo, and Malvasia Nera, Turriga comes from low-yielding, hand-harvested vines in the hills near Serdiana in southern Sardinia. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled vats and aged for about 18 months in new French oak, then further matured in bottle before release.
Why get this wine?
Turriga is a benchmark for Sardinian red wine—powerful, elegant, and deeply expressive of Mediterranean terroir. Co-created with legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis (of Sassicaia fame), it’s often called “Sardinia’s Sassicaia.” The 2019 vintage offers remarkable depth, ripe fruit, and fine tannins, showcasing why Turriga consistently ranks among Italy’s greatest reds.

Rich and complex, with aromas of blackberry, plum, myrtle, and Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, featuring layers of dark fruit, spice, and balsamic notes, supported by polished tannins and a long, savory finish.
