Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"The 2019 Extra Brut Les Empreintes (50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay) is another compelling wine in this range from Laherte Frères. Crushed rocks, lemon peel, chalk, mint and white pepper are all finely sculpted. All the elements are so well balanced. This vibrant, chiseled Champagne is lights out. The airy, lifted finish adds to its considerable appeal. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: December 2024; multiple disgorgements throughout the year." -Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

RP 93
"The 2019 Extra-Brut Les Empreintes, disgorged in December 2024 with two grams per liter dosage, is a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir from the north-facing Les Rouges Maisons and Chardonnay from the west-facing Les Chemins d’Épernay, incorporating up to 25% muscaté Chardonnay. It reveals scents of pear, lemon zest and peach, mingling with dried flowers. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, ample and textural, with a rich yet vibrant core of fruit upheld by a spine of incisive acidity. It finishes long and citrus-inflected, retaining a bright, tension-filled profile due to its vinification without malolactic fermentation." -Kristaps Karklins

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
