Burghound 94 points drink 2017+ " Highly complex and distinguished nose is almost exclusively from the red berry side of the aromatic spectrum with round and rich but noticeably wood-influenced flavors where the oak is more of a textural aspect than a taste factor because it rounds off the finish. The material is sufficiently gifted to eventually deal with the wood but probably at the cost of precision and detail. Perhaps this will surprise to the upside as the old vine extract is certainly present in spades."

"Like the Griotte, the highly complex and distinguished nose is almost exclusively from the red berry side of the aromatic spectrum with round and rich but noticeably wood-influenced flavors where the oak is more of a textural aspect than a taste factor because it rounds off the finish. The material is sufficiently gifted to eventually deal with the wood but probably at the cost of precision and detail. "Good deep red. Wonderfully complex, vibrant aromas of red fruits, game and minerals. Offers great energy and sap in the mid-palate, with powerful minerality giving precision to the flavors. Wonderfully classy, soil-driven wine with the depth and structure to evolve in bottle for decades. Extremely long and tactile on the aftertaste." -Stephen Tanzer

"Jadot’s 2005 Chapelle-Chambertin smells brightly of ripe cherry, red licorice and smoked meat. Bitter-sweet cherry and smoky pungency on the palate are augmented by savory, meaty, salty, and bitter cherry pit. This positively blazes a path in its finish, with almost glaring brightness, mouth-watering salinity and invigorating hints of bitterness. There is nothing cuddly about the texture of this obviously age worthy beauty, however, its fine tannins are thoroughly covered by fruit and in no way weigh-down its dynamic personality." -David Schildknecht

"Second sample (scored) much richer and fuller and more charming. Very bumptious and mouthfilling and, perhaps not as fine as the Clos de Bèze but a real show stopper."

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
