We are so thrilled to announce a Sancerre masterclass presented by Adrian Chalk of Adrian Chalk Selections, featuring the wines of Alphonse Mellot. Adrian will join us at 6pm on Election Day (be sure to vote first!!) on the mezzanine to present his in-depth knowledge of this iconic estate.

We will taste ten Alphonse Mellot wines, white and red, all made and aged in the medieval hilltop of Sancerre. This estate, certified biodynamic since 1999, has been passed from father to son since 1513––nineteen generations.

Adrian's career in the wine trade started over three decades ago as a sweat-equity partner at Chateau Routas in Provence. A tasting and lunch in 1993 with Robert Parker led to great reviews and to a position with Lauber Imports. In 2011 he created his own company, Adrian Chalk Selections, and then joined MS Walker in 2015. He represents two dozen family-owned vineyards.

The cost of this seminar is $50 and a $20 credit at the store will be extended to each guest for a future purchase. Seating is limited and special pricing on the featured wines will be made available to attendees only. We hope you can join us on the mezzanine at 6pm on Tuesday, November 4 for this special evening.

But the surprise winner with the food was a Corsican red, the 2020 Antoine Arena Patrimonio Rouge, "Morta Maio.”

Luxury Burgundy Wine for All: Lafarge's Iconic Passetoutgrains

Perhaps the only thing we love more than Burgundy Pinot Noir is Burgundy Pinot Noir blended with Gamay, a style of wine known as Passetoutgrains. The best examples combine the elegance and structure of Pinot Noir with the playful, juicy character of Gamay — truly the best of both worlds.
