Eyrie’s 2022 Daphne Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from high-elevation volcanic soils in the Dundee Hills. Planted to Pommard clones, the site yields delicate, slow-ripening fruit. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in mostly neutral oak, the wine reflects purity, structure, and restrained elegance.

A top-tier cuvée in Eyrie’s lineup, it offers lifted aromatics, fine tannins, and age-worthy balance. It’s a benchmark for Oregon Pinot from one of its founding estates.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Daphne is a veritable flower shop on the nose, mixing peppery rose with wild strawberries and cedary spice. Lifted and racy in feel, it washes across the palate with crisp red berry fruits, taking on perfumed inner florals and a tinge of salty minerality toward the close. Hints of sour citrus mix with a tart cranberry bitterness as a bump of brilliant acidity ties everything together remarkably well, finishing fresh and full of tension. While not overtly structured or concentrated, the Daphne possesses a balance that promises many years of positive evolution." -Eric Guido

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Daphne is intensely perfumed! It floods the senses with lavender, violet and tea leaves before unveiling an intense core of strawberry, raspberry and orange peel. The light-bodied palate is bursting with just as much mixed berry magic. Its detailed flavors are structured by finely astringent tannins and vibrant acidity, and it has a long, fantastically perfumed finish. I can’t help but wonder what this stunning wine will reveal after a decade or more in the cellar." -Erin Brooks

"My favorite Daphne this side of "Scooby Doo" is a small plot of 50-year-old Pommard vines planted at 820-860 feet in the Dundee Hills. Its refreshing aromas of rose petals, rosemary, plums, pine needles and wet slate lead to flavors like Bing cherries, marjoram, lavender and green tea. Daphne's fleshy texture is joined by bright acidity and silky tannins." -Michael Alberty
