Domaine François Confuron-Gindre has been rooted on the Rue de la Tâche in Vosne-Romanée for six generations, accumulating prized vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits. Their Nuits-Saint-Georges bottling draws on the appellation's characteristic power and structure—chalky, stony soils that produce wines of dark fruit intensity and mineral backbone. The 2020 vintage was shaped by the earliest flowering on record followed by a warm, dry summer, yet crucially avoided the excessive heat of 2018 and 2019. The result: concentrated Pinot Noir with bright acidity and structural freshness that many growers consider the best of the trio. This village-level Nuits shows blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit, forest floor, and spice, with firm tannins that will soften over the next several years. Approachable now with a short decant, but patience will be rewarded—give it five to eight years for full development.
