A parcel in Romanée-Saint-Vivant directly opposite the legendary Romanée-Conti itself, tended by Géraldine Godot at Domaine de l'Arlot with the same biodynamic rigor and whole-cluster precision that define her house. Fifteen months in French oak (40% new) followed by tank refinement allows black cherry, iodine, violet, rose, and peony to emerge with elegant definition. The wine's svelte tannins and killer acidity announce a wine built for the cellar—30+ years of evolution lie ahead. Wood case presentation marks this as a collector's wine, destined for serious cellaring rather than casual enjoyment.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 96
"The 2023 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet that blossoms in the glass. Dark cherries, touches of violet and iodine just soar with aeration—wonderfully delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins and a killer line of acidity, very harmonious through the linear and poised finish. This is quite understated for an RSV. Lovely." -Neal Martin

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
