Les Chaumes sits at the southern edge of Vosne-Romanée, where the vineyard borders Nuits-Saint-Georges and produces a distinctively structured, savory expression of this legendary village. Méo-Camuzet, one of Burgundy's most storied domaines, farms this premier cru with meticulous attention—yields are kept low, harvesting is done by hand, and winemaking under Jean-Nicolas Méo emphasizes purity and precision. The 2023 vintage offers the estate's hallmark balance of power and elegance.

Professional Reviews

"from a 2-ha parcel. More wood influence is evident on the spicy aromas of mostly ripe black pinot fruit and exotic tea-suffused nose. The supple and attractively vibrant middle weight flavors are not dense but I like the beguiling texture that carries over to the lingering finish that firms up significantly." -Allen Meadows

"The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru comes from two hectares split over two parcels (one called "Jean Tardy" after its former métayer). This has an exuberant bouquet of vivacious dark cherries, raspberry coulis and crushed stone scents, with wonderful delineation throughout. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, lightly spiced black fruit and hints of marmalade. This is quite persistent and spicy on the finish with a little aftertaste of clove. Perhaps it lacks the grace and sophistication of the best cuvées, but it will yield 12 to 15 years of drinking pleasure." -Neal Martin

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
