"This is perhaps the ripest wine in the range with an unusually elegant mélange of oak trimmed red and blue pinot fruit aromas nuanced by hints of violets and the expected pungent earth that is also picked up by the rich and particularly full flavors that possess a natural sweetness, which serves to buffer the classic youthful finishing austerity of a fine Clos de Vougeot. This is really lovely and built to age."

Sappy and bright on the palate even as it retains a confiture-like sense of sweetness that is buttressed by notes of new wood, this is the most voluminous (at 13.8% alcohol) and structured of the 2006s at its address."
