"A restrained, indeed all-but-inexpressive nose only grudgingly reveals notes of yeast and apple with background floral whispers. There is actually pretty good complexity to the delicious if very round flavors that finish drier than the dosage level would suggest though the operative word is drier, not dry. Still, for those who enjoy a rounder style of Champagne that offers fine depth and no austerity, this is worth a look. I should note that it’s not a style that I look for personally but this is still well-made." -Allen Meadows

"Bright yellow. Deeply perfumed aromas of poached pear, melon, nectarine and lemon curd are complemented by suggestions of buttered toast, anise and chamomile. Plush and broad on the palate, offering ripe citrus and pit fruit flavors with a touch of chalky minerality adding cut and lift. A floral quality builds slowly with air and carries through the spicy, sappy, gently sweet finish. I like this Champagne's balance of fruitiness and vivacity and there's no way that I'd have guessed that its dosage was so high." -Vinous

Champagne
Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
