"The 1995 Grand Mayne has a much better bouquet compared to the bottles of the Eighties with vibrant scents of red cherries, dark chocolate and light minty aromas. This could be classed as the first of the modern-day vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, grainy in texture with cedar-infused red fruit laced with mint. It just dips a little early at the finish but otherwise this 1995 continues to give pleasure. Tasted at the Grand Mayne vertical at the property." -Neal Martin

"An unqualified sleeper of the vintage, the opaque purple-colored 1995 Grand-Mayne displays a sweet, creamy, black raspberry-scented nose with subtle notes of smoky, toasty oak. Both powerful and elegant, this wine exhibits layers of richness, nicely integrated acidity and tannin, and an impressive full-bodied, long finish. This offering should be drinkable early, and keep for over a decade." -Robert M. Parker, Jr.

"In-your-face aromas of toasted oak, ripe berries and chocolate. Full-bodied, with loads of ripe fruit and a long, smoke and berry finish. Absolutely moreish."
