Le Robbe is a light, energetic red from Giuseppe Cipolla, a young natural winemaker working near Cefalù on Sicily’s northern coast. His wines come from organically farmed, biodiverse vineyards close to the Tyrrhenian Sea, where salty air and constant wind keep things fresh and fungal pressure low.
The 2023 vintage of Le Robbe is a blend of native Sicilian red grapes, most likely including Nerello Mascalese, Nocera, or Frappato, depending on the vintage and parcel. Fermented with native yeasts, aged in fiberglass or steel, and bottled unfined, unfiltered, with little or no sulfur, it reflects the raw, sun-washed terrain it comes from.
Stylistically, Le Robbe is light-bodied, dry, and bright, with notes of red cherry, herbs, dried rose, and a hint of salt air. There’s a touch of wildness in the texture—just enough to remind you it’s handmade—but the balance and freshness keep it focused. Serve it slightly chilled, with grilled vegetables, pasta with anchovies, or a beachside sunset
