Volcanic Vidonia from the slopes of Mount Teide—an active volcano on Tenerife. Francisco Javier García Núñez began purchasing vineyard plots in 1986; son Jonatan formally launched the winery in 2006. 9 hectares split into 21 plots between 350-700 meters elevation. Vines trained in cordón trenzado—the traditional braided cordon system where canes twist over one another, sometimes extending 10+ meters. Some vines over 100 years old. Whole-bunch pressed, native yeast fermentation, 10 months in 500-liter French oak. Minimal sulfur, no racking.
