This 2008 Syrah is pure early Bedrock—raw, soulful, and packed with personality. Sourced from the legendary Hudson Vineyard in Carneros and cofermented with a touch of Viognier (a nod to Côte-Rôtie), it’s a whole-cluster, wild-yeast Syrah that balances California richness with Rhône-inspired spice and structure.

Now with 15+ years of age, it’s in a beautiful spot: smoked meat, black olive, blackberry compote, and cracked pepper, with lifted floral notes from the Viognier and a savory, earthy core. The whole-cluster character adds grip and herbal depth, while the tannins have softened into something smooth and soulful.

2008 was a smaller, focused vintage—lower yields, intense concentration—and Morgan Twain-Peterson crafted this bottling with serious age-worthiness in mind, even in the early days of Bedrock. It’s a wine that speaks of site, intention, and a bit of California rebellion.

Perfect with grilled lamb, charred vegetables, or anything smoky and bold. Not your average Syrah—and not easy to find anymore.
