Domaine de Cristia’s 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Classic is everything you want in a southern Rhône red—ripe, rich, and wildly satisfying, with a lift and elegance that make it more than just muscle.

This cuvée is built around old-vine Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre adding depth, structure, and spice. The fruit leans dark—blackberries, cherries, and dried figs—wrapped in garrigue herbs, cracked pepper, and a whisper of warm earth. The tannins are plush and well-integrated, making it approachable now but with plenty of backbone for aging.

Cristia farms organically and vinifies with a light touch, allowing the terroir to shine through all that southern sun. It’s classic Châteauneuf flavor, but with sleekness and polish that keeps things fresh.

Perfect for: grilled lamb, hearty stews, roast vegetables, or just cozy nights in when only a big red will do.

The “Classic” has a distinctive floral component and is a pretty wine, at the same time, it captures the power and spice you expect from a classic Châteauneuf. The vines average 50 years-old and are grown in a sandy loam and clay soil. The blend is 75% Grenache aged in concrete, 15% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre aged in barrels. Aged for 18 months.
