In a rare Alsace-focused event on the Flatiron Wines mezzanine, we are delighted to welcome a key estate from the Vineyard Brands portfolio, Domaine Weinbach, with special guest co-owner Eddy Leiber-Faller. He will join us for an Alsace masterclass at 6pm on Tuesday, April 21. Eddy will present a selection of his wines that best express the terroir of this benchmark family estate.
About Domaine Weinbach:
Surrounded by vineyards at the foot of the Schlossberg hill, Domaine Weinbach—named after the small river that runs through the property—produces an outstanding range of wines crafted from Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Sylvaner, and Pinot Blanc grapes. Combining organic and biodynamic practices, the estate expresses the diversity of its terroir through single-vineyard wines, as well as “Vendanges Tardives” and “Sélections de Grains Nobles.”
With vines planted as early as the 9th century, the Weinbach estate was operated by Capuchin monks in 1612 before being confiscated as national property during the French Revolution. In 1898, the estate was acquired by the Fuller family, a prominent name in Alsatian viticulture. Théo Faller, deeply committed for high-quality wine production, passed away in 1979, leaving the estate to his wife Colette and their daughters Catherine and Laurence. Since 2016, Catherine has been leading the estate, supported by her sons, Eddy and Théo.
About Eddy:
Eddy Leiber-Faller was born and raised in Alsace at Domaine Weinbach, where he spent his childhood running through the vineyards and immersing himself in viticulture and winemaking. After earning a degree in political science followed by an MBA in the United States, Eddy spent 11 years in Brazil building a career in the banking sector. Remaining closely connected to Domaine Weinbach, he continued to support the family business at trade fairs and across export markets. In 2017, he officially joined the estate alongside his mother Catherine and his brother Théo, while simultaneously training in oenology in southern France. Today, he oversees winemaking with Catherine and manages export sales, marketing, and administration.
The cost of this seminar is $40 and a $20 credit at the store will be extended to each guest for a future purchase. Seating is limited and special pricing on the featured wines will be made available only to attendees. We hope you can join us on the mezzanine at 6pm on
Tuesday, April 21 for this special evening.
Cancellations can be processed for a refund with at least 48 hours' notice before the start of class. See all our policies here.
