Arnot-Roberts has built a reputation for seeking out exceptional vineyard sites and making bold, expressive wines. Ascona Vineyard sits at 2,500 feet on a ridgetop in the Santa Cruz Mountains, just 15 miles from the Pacific—a position that channels the ocean's influence into the grapes. This small 4.5-acre vineyard, planted in 2000 on what was once a Christmas tree farm, commands both sunshine and fog, creating ideal tension. The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc sings with that coastal character: wet stone and salinity thread through layers of lemony green apple, with a lithe, energetic body. This is Sauvignon Blanc shaped by place—not fruit alone.

Ascona Vineyard is located on a ridgetop high up in the Santa Cruz Mountains at 2,500 feet, overlooking the Big Basin watershed. The sloping southwest-facing hillside is 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, with abundant sunshine during the day, and consistent overnight fog and cool ocean breezes. The small 4.5 acre vineyard was planted in 2000 on the site of an old Christmas tree farm, and has been meticulously farmed by Ken and Abbey Swegles since 2016.
