Aslina is the personal label of Ntsiki Biyela, South Africa's first Black female winemaker, who named the winery for her grandmother. That story alone makes this Chardonnay worth a look, but it earns its place on flavor: a complex, creamy Western Cape white built for versatility. A portion was fermented and aged in barrel while the rest stayed on the lees in tank, giving it both texture and freshness. Good acidity keeps the tropical fruit and gentle oak in balance. An easy crowd-pleaser with a genuinely meaningful backstory.

More about Aslina

Aslina Wines was founded in 2016 by Ntsiki Biyela, South Africa's first black female winemaker, named after her grandmother. She self-funded the project and released wines in 2017: Cabernet, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Bordeaux-style blend called Umsasane. She's working Stellenbosch's finest terroirs with zero compromise. This is wine made by someone who had to invent her own path. The quality is formidable.
