A chance to try a fully mature example of Timorasso. This one shows delicate floral notes and more boisterous tropical and sea-breeze aromatics. The palate has plenty of fruit to continue development—pear, honeydew, passion fruit, lemon, honey, and dried flower notes. There is considerable texture, maintaining freshness and extensive minerality with a bit of savoriness on the finish.

Natale Simonetta is from Barbaresco and studied with the late, great Bruno Giacosa. For this wine, the fruit is sourced from a friend's 0.8 ha parcel planted in the 1950s in Casasco, near Alessandria, at 480 meters elevation on lime-rich clay. It ferments in stainless steel and then spends nine years in large, old oak before release.
