Isacco Costamagna's Castrum Roche represents emerging talent in Piedmont: a winemaker who inherited two prime hectares in La Morra's celebrated Torriglione vineyard in 2014 and committed fully to winemaking in 2021. His first vintage launched the label to immediate attention, demonstrating the potential of meticulous viticulture in one of Langhe's finest locations. Fresh, elegant Nebbiolo crafted through free-run fermentation with indigenous yeasts and minimal skin soaking. This is young, vibrant Nebbiolo—approachable now yet structured enough to age.

More about Castrum Roche

Isacco Costamagna is one of Piedmont's fresh faces: a UC Turin-trained enologist who abandoned the safe path to bet everything on two hectares of Nebbiolo in La Morra. His Langhe Nebbiolo is a lesson in restraint—fermented wild, aged in steel, and tasting nothing like the blockbusters that dominate the region. Clean, elegant, thrillingly mineral. This is new-wave Barolo thinking from a producer who knows the tradition so well he can afford to question it.
