Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is a classified Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate producing traditionally-styled wines that age gracefully. The 2005 vintage—one of Bordeaux's finest of the decade—saw near-perfect growing conditions that produced wines of exceptional depth and structure. This magnum format ensures even more graceful evolution. Now approaching two decades of age, the wine shows the hallmarks of mature Right Bank Bordeaux: dark fruit, cassis, and lead-pencil minerality with smooth, integrated tannins. A Merlot-dominant blend ready for drinking through the next decade.

Robert Parker

90 points

"Dense and tannic, this inky purple wine possesses huge minerality, loads of black cherry, cassis and blackberry fruit, and a boatload of tannin. Powerful, full-bodied, and almost excruciatingly young, this wine needs another 5-6 years of cellaring." —Robert M. Parker, Jr.
