A genuinely wild white from one of California's most adventurous winemakers. Clothing Optional is the experimental side project of Hardy Wallace (of Dirty & Rowdy), and this Muscat-based white comes from Chalone AVA fruit, roughly half Antle/Rodnick Muscat and half mixed whites from Brosseau, with the area's rare limestone, granite and volcanic soils. It's a field blend made with zero added sulfur and a long elevage of around twenty months in barrel plus bottle time. Production is tiny, the style is uncompromising, and it's like nothing else on the shelf.
