The 2022 Les Terres de Phileandre Bourgogne Aligoté by David Duband is a vibrant and fresh expression of this traditional Burgundian white varietal. David Duband, known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to organic viticulture, has crafted this Aligoté to highlight the varietal’s natural acidity and minerality while delivering balance and finesse.

In the glass, the wine shows a pale straw color with shimmering highlights. The nose is bright and aromatic, offering notes of green apple, lemon zest, and white flowers, with a subtle hint of crushed stones. On the palate, it is lively and refreshing, showcasing crisp citrus flavors, pear, and a touch of saline minerality that gives it a clean, energetic finish. The 2022 vintage, marked by warm growing conditions, brings ripe fruit flavors while preserving the varietal’s hallmark zesty character.

This Aligoté pairs beautifully with classic Burgundian appetizers such as gougères or escargot, as well as seafood, light salads, or creamy goat cheese. While ready to enjoy now for its vibrancy and youthful energy, it also has the structure to evolve with short-term cellaring. Les Terres de Phileandre Bourgogne Aligoté is a fantastic introduction to David Duband’s winemaking philosophy, offering a delightful balance of tradition and modernity at an exceptional value.

David Duband is making great wines exclusively from the Côte-de-Nuits. He loves whole cluster fermentations. He said, "Once I had tasted old bottles from Dujac and DRC made with whole clusters I knew I wanted to make similarly aromatic wines." His business partner François Feuillet bankrolled the purchase of Jacky Truchot's vineyards in 2005. Viticulture is a mix of organic & biodynamic methods but not certified as such.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
