"The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Pruh is deeply alluring and hauntingly dark in style. It slowly evolves with a mineral-intense mix of dried herbs, spiced lemon rinds, ginger and crushed green apples. Its saline intensity saturates the senses, matched by a sour citrus core as jolting acidity further embellishes the experience. A solid core of fruit should come to the fore with further maturity. "From 14-year-old vines, the 2020 Pruh Sauvignon Blanc comes from the stone quarry of the Zieregg, so a very rocky limestone terroir with almost no humus. Macerated for 12 hours and aged on the lees for 54 months, the 2020 opens with a fascinatingly deep, intense and saline bouquet with intense pomelo and sur lie aromas as well as notes of crushed limestone rock and fresh rhubarb. Full-bodied, intense and mouthfilling but fine and super saline on the palate, this is a pure, vital and persistently saline Sauvignon Blanc with lively lightness and down-to-earth mineral tension. For freaks only. 13% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in April 2025." —Stephan Reinhardt
