Domaine de Fontsainte has ancient viticultural roots—archaeological evidence includes coins from Marcus Agrippa's era (25 A.D.). The name derives from a 12th-century thermal spring dedicated to Saint Simeon. The Laboucarie family has crafted wines here since the 17th century; Yves Laboucarie revolutionized regional winemaking in 1971 by pioneering carbonic maceration in Corbieres. Today Bruno Laboucarie runs the estate, which has been imported by Kermit Lynch for over four decades. From the "Golden Crescent" of Corbieres—south-facing slopes with silica, clay, and limestone soils—this blend of Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah is aged six months in French oak and cement. Black cherry, spice, and garrigue character at exceptional value.
