There's a reason this bottle has been a Flatiron staple for years: it's honest, sun-soaked Languedoc red that overdelivers every single vintage. Domaine de Fontsainte sits in the Golden Crescent of Corbieres, one of the sunniest pockets of the south, where old bush-vine Carignan grows on gravelly clay and limestone tucked behind a protective forest. The blend leads with that old-vine Carignan, rounded out by Grenache and a splash of Syrah, part of it made carbonic for lift and juicy fruit. The 2023 came from a hot, dry, low-yield year that concentrated everything down into small, flavorful berries. Warm, generous, and endlessly drinkable, this is Mediterranean red done right.
