Named after another character from Rabelais, 'Picrochole' represents a different expression of Pineau d'Aunis from Domaine de Montrieux—a more recently released vintage showing the wine's youthful character and potential. At just two years old, this 2022 displays the dark fruit intensity and herbal complexity that characterize younger Pineau d'Aunis: cherry, subtle earth, and herbal notes with the structured tannins that will allow this wine to age gracefully. Ariane Lesné's commitment to natural winemaking—no synthetic inputs, minimal sulfites at bottling—allows the wine's terroir and vintage character to express themselves fully. Drinking beautifully now with hearty cuisine, this wine will continue to develop and refine for another 8-10 years.
